Sara has a master’s degree in Maternal and Child Health from UNC and specializes in storytelling and communications for nonprofits. She has spent more than 20 years working with organizations all over the world, including Mexico, Nicaragua, India and the US, advocating for women’s rights and access to sexual and reproductive health. Her passion is using creative and participatory strategies to eradicate health inequalities while lifting up the voices of marginalized communities. In addition to supporting Group Care Global, she provides ongoing communications support to Congo Education Partners (a non-profit that promotes conservation and sustainable development in a remote area of the Congo Basin Rainforest) and is working with Save the Children on Voices, a behavior change intervention that uses audio stories to promote gender equitable attitudes and practices among parents of young adolescents.
